Enjoy summer with the perfect mango treat

With summer in full swing, now is the time to enjoy all of the seasonal fruits and vegetables that come along with it. Among them, mangoes are a favourite for many. Sweet and juicy, mangoes are a great way to cool down and satisfy your sweet tooth during hot summer days. Read on to find out the best ways to eat mango this summer!

Mango salsa

This is the perfect summer snack or side dish to serve at any outdoor gathering. All you need is a ripe mango, avocado, red onion, bunch of coriander, a jalapeño (optional), lime juice and a pinch of salt and pepper. Dice everything up and mix together in a bowl for a delicious salsa that pairs perfectly with chips or tacos. If you’d like to make it even more flavourful, add diced pineapple or tomatoes!

Mango smoothie bowls

Smoothie bowls are one of our favourite snacks here at Wellbeing Collective—and mango makes an excellent ingredient! All you need is some fresh mango chunks, banana, Greek yogurt, honey and your favourite smoothie toppings such as chia seeds or coconut flakes. Blend all of the ingredients except the toppings until thick and creamy consistency is reached; then pour into a bowl and top with whatever you like!

Grilled mango

For those who love grilling season as much as we do, why not try grilling up some spicy-sweet grilled mango? It’s simple—just cut two fresh mangos into slices and brush them with olive oil and spices (we recommend cumin, curry powder or chilli powder/flakes). Next, place them on the grill for about 3-5 minutes on each side until they’re lightly charred. Serve with lime wedges for extra flavour!

Mango ice cream treats

These homemade popsicles are not only incredibly easy to make but also incredibly delicious. Start by blending three cups of fresh or frozen mango cubes with ¼ cup of coconut water and two tablespoons of honey before pouring into popsicle moulds. Add more coconut water to reach the desired consistency if needed. Freeze it for 3-6 hours, but overnight is optimal. This treat is so simple that even kids can join in on making them—plus they’ll get a healthy snack out of it too!

Eating mangoes this summer doesn’t have to be boring! With these recipes you can enjoy this summer favourite in delicious new ways that will keep your taste buds happy all season long. Whether you’re hosting guests outdoors or just looking for something quick for yourself, these recipes offer something everyone can enjoy.
